Overview

SMBC's Real Estate Finance Department is looking for an experienced Associate in general corporate banking to join its' growing Subscription Secured Finance Department.

 

Responsibilities

- Manage and execute transactions from beginning to closing including building and maintaining financial models
- Prepare credit applications, borrower rating applications, annual/quarterly client reviews
- Manage due diligence processes and support day-to-day administrative activities for the transactions
- Monitor and evaluate current events related to pension funds and private equity funds
- Assist in the creation of internal reports, including those reports relating to exposure, budget and inventory
- Work with relationship manager to prepare pitch books / term sheet related to client marketing
- Participate in marketing activity and client relationship building and syndication

 

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree from a leading university, or its equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 full years of experience at the analyst level in a corporate banking group
- Strong financial modeling/valuation and analytical skills, including acquisition financing model,
- Knowledge of corporate finance and accounting, and experience analyzing company financials
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects
- Excellent technology skills with superior Excel and PowerPoint skills
