SMBC has started filing FR2052(a), a new Regulatory Report under Enhanced Prudential Standards (EPS). SMBC is also preparing new BHC Regulatory Reporting. Under these new regulations, SMBC subsidiaries' customers are required to be assigned SUN (Sumitomo Unique Number) in CIF. This position also requires various Excel related tasks to help out Regulatory Reporting QA department.

In addition, various ad-hoc projects for customer attributes review are required to prepare the new Regulatory Reports.

The EPS-CIF project and the projects related to the new regulations require maintenance to ensure a high quality of customer information.

The duration of this assignment is approximately 6 months.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily EPS SUN manual reconciliation 
  • Various EPS SUN related projects

Essential Functions:

  • On a daily basis, receiving SMBC subsidiaries' active customer lists. Based on the subsidiaries' active customer lists, perform customer ID reconciliation to ensure all active customers are correctly assigned SMBC unique customer ID (SUN). Also investigate whether key customer attributes are correctly assigned in subsidiaries subsystem.
  • Communicate with subsidiaries and request the correct data input in their subsystem.
  • Summarize and report findings to the manager.
  • Track daily findings and confirm that attributes are fixed correctly.
  • Perform assigned tasks related to the EPS-related CIF project execution.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects assigned to help out Regulatory Reporting QA department.
  • Liaise with IT department and smooth transfer from manual to automated reconciliation.
  • Perform Excel related tasks to help out with the Regulatory Reporting QA department's daily work.
  • Interact with related internal parties to carry out assigned tasks/projects.



Key Competencies:

  • 2 to 5 years' banking experience
  • Familiarity with bank internal control concepts
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word); Familiar with Excel functions - VLookup, formulas, manual search
