Reporting to the Senior Manager of Talent Development and working in partnership with multiple stakeholders, domestic and international, and business leaders you will an integral part of the banks learning and development efforts. This is a fully integrated Learning and Development role responsible for all elements of the L&D cycle to offer holistic and adaptable L&D delivery that will scale up as the business grows and align SMBC Americas Division learning strategy and deliverables.



  • Execute and take full responsibility of the L&D life-cycle including project design, management of needs analysis, content development and facilitation/roll-out 
  • Consult, influence and engage stakeholders to support learning in the workplace  
  • Support the development of branding and marketing of learning products and the function overall 
  • Remain current about external trends and best practices in training and learning and integrate this knowledge into deliverables 
  • Stand up and web-based training facilitation 
  • Manage external vendors 
  • Administrative responsibilities including the support of metrics generation, budget management, Training Governance Committee, audit controls

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in training development planning, design and delivery for a global environment within the financial services sector 
  • Master's Degree in Adult Learning preferred 
  • Experience working with Success Factors or equivalent LMS 
  • Experience working with Articulate or equivalent software systems
