Overview

This position will play a key role in compliance and control activities related to SMFL NY branch’s cash balances by ensuring that daily cash reconciliations are performed between E-Moneyger (bank accounts) and AAF system (loan/lease accounting system) as well as assisting in other administrative tasks related to daily fundings and customer inquiries. This assignment is expected to last 6 months.

 

Responsibilities

Ensure accuracy and completeness of all cash transactions in E-Moneyger (bank accounts) and AAF system, reconciling any differences between the two - Perform daily cash reconciliations between E-Moneyger (bank accounts) and AAF (loan/lease accounting system) under supervision and guidance of AVP - Treasury/Financial Control.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Assist in responding to and producing early payoff requests for customers under supervision of AVP - Accounting Specialist
  • Assist in other administrative tasks as necessary associated with daily fundings, customer information inquiries, cash flow applications in AAF, etc. under supervision of Accounting staff
  • Assist with retrieving customer data (principal balances) from AAF system and creating spreadsheet schedules for calculation of early payoff amounts and producing early payoff letters to be sent to customers
  • Assist with administrative tasks associated with executing daily fundings
  • Assist with manual input and tasks in AAF system (such as cash flow applications) 
  • Assist with responding to other miscellaneous customer inquiries (such as retrieving customer balances from AAF, providing amortization schedules for customers, etc.)

Qualifications

Key Competencies:

  • Ability to perform daily account reconciliations (bank accounts, system cash account balances)
  • Accounting/bookkeeping experience highly preferred
  • Team player, detail oriented, strong ability to learn new processes
  • Ability to balance and prioritize critical responsibilities to ensure all assignments are completed on a timely basis
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work well in a team environment
  • Demonstrate positive attitude and high ethical standards

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred; or equivalent experience and training
  • 3 or more years of accounting/bookkeeping experience is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of software including MS Word, Excel
  • Able to work 8 hours (between 9AM to 5PM) Monday - Friday
  • Able to work in our office located in Manhattan everyday
  • Able to work in an office environment in close proximity to others
