SMBC is looking for a Senior Operations Associate to work in the Investigations Department of Client Services Center, located in Jersey City, NJ (Harborside). The candidate will ensure that all inquiries received from SMBC’s customers and financial institutions are addressed and resolved in a timely manner. Responses must be provided while adhering to SMBC’s overall policy related to customer communication and correspondence. There is a strong requirement for an individual who has excellent written and verbal communication skills and is diverse and detail oriented.
The candidate will ensure that all inquiries received from SMBC’s customers and financial institutions are addressed and resolved in a timely manner by the Investigations support staff utilizing the Sungard Investigations system,and Montran payment system.
Minimum of 5 to 7 year’s experience in Investigations/Compensation and Customer Service Field and understanding of BAFT Compensation rules.
Strong knowledge of compliance related investigations and OFAC/AML guidelines.
Functional knowledge of Chips, Swift, and Fed wire payment systems. (Montran experience a plus but not mandatory.)
Strong written and verbal communication skills to resolve inquires with internal departments and external customers.
PC skills including MS Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Monitor the daily workflows to ensure that all assigned cases are appropriately actioned within the proper time frame. This will include creation of Swift correspondence on Sungard Investigation System and payments on Montran Payment System.
Ensure all emails directed to Investigations are reviewed and replied to accurately and in a professional manner.
Participation in ad hoc projects
