SMBC is seeking a Senior Account Policy Specialist to join a top accounting policy team to assist with U.S. GAAP research, maintain U.S. GAAP accounting policies, perform transaction reviews for SMBC NY Branch and its U.S. subsidiaries (including a broker dealer, derivatives trading entity, commercial paper backed conduit, lessor entities, commercial bank, etc.) as well as participating in industry meetings to further SMBC’s interests.
To be one of the technical accounting resources for SMBC NY Branch and its U.S. subsidiaries (including a broker dealer, derivatives trading entity, commercial paper backed conduit, lessor entities, commercial bank, etc.).
Responsibilities & Duties
CPA (or equivalent), 5-10 years of either public OR a combination of public and private accounting experiences in financial services working on investment securities, loans, leases and derivatives with at least 3-5 years of public accounting experiences (accounting advisory or on call experience is preferred) and have a good understanding of U.S. GAAP (Knowledge of IFRS and / or Japanese GAAP is a plus but not required).
