Overview

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation is looking for a candidate work in the Global Payment Services Department Receiving Department overnight shift.. The candidate will be responsible for the processing of U.S. Dollar payments for our overseas branches, subsidiaries and corporate clients received through various mediums (SWIFT, Fax, and Cash management system. There is a strong requirement for an individual who has excellent written and verbal communication skills, a team player, and detail oriented. The position hours will be 08:30 PM to 04:30 AM

 

Responsibilities

In addition to transaction processing this position will need to provide excellent customer service, resolve same day and prior day inquiries. Fulfill various requests related to customer payment requests. Research and resolve a wide variety of issues and queries using independent judgment. Follow direction and execute tasks efficiently following procedures and meeting regulatory and customer experience requirements. Work with management to identify process improvements. Review and process incoming/outgoing wire requests as needed.

 

Qualifications

Minimum of five years of experience in bank back office payment operations specifically CHIPS and Fedwire formatting and structure 
Familiarity with SWIFT processing including message type and fields used for transaction processing. Understanding of NY Clearing House (CHIPS) and Federal Reserve Bank (Fedwire) systems, processing and funding and rules
Payment system knowledge of CHIPS, Fedwire and payment system software (Montran experience a plus but not mandatory)
Previous use of Sungard or similar Investigation System
Strong written and verbal communication skills to resolve inquiries with overseas offices
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

PC skills
Strong customer service skills and excellent written and oral communication skills
Communicate effectively with internal and external partners
Show initiative while being a self-starter with the ability to handle time sensitive inquiries and time sensitive transactions
Strong knowledge of banking procedures required.
