    SMBC's Japanese and Asian Corporate Banking Department is seeking a Customer Support Administrator in San Francisco. The Customer Support Administrator provides provides administrative support to Relationship Managers, maintains customer information, conducts KYC processes, coordinates loan and deposit processes for customers and collaborates with other SMBC departments to complete customer account related tasks.



    • Conduct KYC processes and collaborate with internal bank departments to complete customer account related tasks.
    • Provide a high level of service to department customers and maintain customer information in various databases.
    • Assist customers in opening accounts, cash management services and deposit business inquiries.
    • Responsible for all funding transactions and coordinating the funding of loans and deposits with SMBC’s Treasury Department. Assists customers to arrange daily funding, Cayman deposit and other transactions.
    • Provide administrative support for department Relationship Managers.
    • Perform accurate record keeping of all transactions according to company policy.
    • Prepare CMS and forex documents, brochures and proposals.
    • Process new draw-downs, pay-downs, LC activities and fees for syndicated and bilateral deals and other loan related paper work.



    • Must be able to speak, read and write English and Japanese on a business level.
    • 1-2 years of administrative experience in a professional work environment. Experience in banking or finance is preferred. 
    • Intermediate skill level in computer technology, MS Office applications, data entry and other enterprise software.
    • Strong customer service and communication skills.
    • High attention to detail.
