    The Margin Operations group monitors operations through daily counter-party interactions for SMBC CM INC and SMBC NIKKO CM LTD serving in functions that include daily collateral management for CSAs and centrally cleared trades. Group will be relied upon for reconciliations of swap settlements for centrally cleared trades, Portfolio Reconciliation and other regulatory requirements related to Margin. The team is relied upon heavily to ensure daily margining for trades pre and post compliance date. Group also is responsible for the daily reconciliation of the Futures and Options portfolio and it's settlements. In addition, they are considered first line of defense for dispute resolution processes on a portfolio level and trade level. Lastly, group will analyze collateral holdings and make decisions to optimize collateral with the approval of front office.



    Analyst will be supporting the functions of the Collateral Management Group locally in NY. They will work alongside the London Collateral Management team to ensure task completion and ensure collateralization between entities in SMBC CM INC and SMBC NIKKO CM LTD. This purpose of this role is to provide support on the daily processes but will also assist in providing high level technical advisory support for the team. Will assist in cross training with other team members and highlighting inefficiencies within the processes for the sake of automation and processing.

    Candidate will report directly to the manager of the Margin Operations team and assist in maintaining daily operations in the group. Daily processes will include daily collateral management for OTC derivatives under the non-cleared margining rules. In addition, candidate will be reviewing and processing the initial and variation margin for CM as direct members of clearing houses and through FCMs. Daily process will also include portfolio reconciliation for Dodd Frank and EMIR and cleared trades as well.

    Candidate will be expected to process payments related to margin and margin interest and should have basic SWIFT knowledge



    3-5 years of experience with derivatives, CSA/Collateral Management, Settlements, operations. Bachelors degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics degree.
