SMBC is seeking an Intern for our Capital Markets Division. Must be able to work Full time in the summer followed by three business days during the academic year. Hours are 8:30-5:00pm.
Candidate will be supporting full time staff by assisting in day to day processing of Settlements Department. Person will be responsible for settlement confirmations for products in: US Treasury Bond, CAD Treasury Bond, FX and swap settlements for Payment and Reset Notices. Intern will also daily calculate and adjust notional resets for trades.
Intern will also support margin processes and assist in reconciliations of futures and options and collateral related inqurieis. Individual will be responsible for daily distribution of reports for Dodd Frank and EMIR daily disclosures.
Other tasks include mail sorting, responding to audit requests and other ad-hoc requests.
Currently attending a 4 year college: Finance/Accounting/Economic/Business/Mathematics major.
Requires a minimum of 3 full days in the week at 8:30am- 5pm.
Candidate should be self-starter, detailed oriented, posess good time management skills and have the desire to learn and be able to multi-task.
