    The Talent Acquisition team is responsible for the recruiting process that enables our stakeholders across the firm to hire the right talent for SMBC’s Americas Division. They partner with their internal clients to understand their needs as well as to consult and advise on a complete hiring strategy. The team oversees hiring for our Analyst and Intern programs, experienced hires and temporary employees. 


    There is a strong focus on relationship management, both internally and externally, as the team engages with hiring managers, interviewers, employee referrals, candidates, various HR teams, external organizations, 3rd party vendors and academic institutions. The team strives to offer a quality hiring experience for all parties involved. In addition to the hiring efforts, they are ambassadors for the firm’s inclusion and diversity initiatives as well as SMBC’s brand in the market.


    We are looking for an experienced Campus Recruiter who will be responsible for all university recruitment programs. The role calls for collaboration with key stakeholders such as career centers, on campus organizations and internal partners as the responsibilities include maintaining relationships on campus and on site to improve the candidate experience and identify future employees.




    • Lead, design and implement the university recruiting strategy to attract a qualified and diverse pipeline of campus talent that aligns with business goals
    • Build external partnerships with diversity, student and industry specific organizations as well as on campus contacts
    • Establish relationships with senior business leaders and HR partners to deliver recruiting initiatives, training programs, and share/leverage best practices to improve the Analyst and Intern programs to meet the changing needs of early career talent

    • Understand the industry and geographical competitive landscape in order to influence and shape future recruiting strategies

    • Partner with Marketing to deliver consistent corporate messaging into all university materials


    • Consult with business to influence all aspects of hiring decisions by using identified hiring criteria, market trend analysis, internal equity, and diversity needs, combined with a deep understanding of client's talent requirements
    • Develop and establish a recruiting practice that delivers a high quality and consistent experience for hiring managers and candidates and proactively anticipate opportunities for program process improvements.

    • Manage and execute full life cycle recruitment process. This includes candidate selection, first and final round interviews, offer decision and communication process.

    • Drive candidate engagement through all stages of the recruiting process to ensure a positive candidate experience is delivered

    • Maintain regular contact with targeted campus and diversity related partners

    • Track and analyze key performance metrics to influence data driven decisions and to share results/trends with stakeholders


    • Bachelor’s degree required 
    • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in University Relations and/or Campus/University Recruitment, including experience shaping programmatic elements of an enterprise wide campus recruitment functio
    • Experience building or re-engineering university recruiting strategies and execution
    • Consultative-based client service skills with the ability to deliver results and provide solutions
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines with high volumes and shifting priorities in a fast paced environment
    • Solid interpersonal and relationship building skills
    • Presentation skills, for both internal and external audiences
    • Project Management and organizational skills with the ability to pay close attention to detail
