  • Overview

    SMBC's Japanese and Asian Corporate Banking Department is seeking a bilingual Administrative Assistant for its office in Downtown Los Angeles. 

    Responsibilities

    The incumbent provides effective and efficient administrative support to the Department Head, General Manager and Relationship Managers on a daily basis, as well as executes various banking related duties, such as:

    • Support sales section by obtaining account related documents from prospective and existing customers.
    • Monitor and update KYC databases.
    • Process expense reports.
    • Arrange travel and coordinate business trips for marketing staff.
    • Provide a variety of department administrative support, including taking meeting minutes, filing, mailing, copying, phone support, greeting visitors (including serving tea) and contacting vendors.
    • Provide secretarial support to Manager including arranging meetings and appointments, managing schedules, organizing paperwork, and printing various documents.

    Qualifications

    • 1-2 years of experience in a professional office environment.
    • Basic administrative skills (copying, filing, scanning, emailing, data entry etc.)
    • Intermediate computer skills in the use of productivity software and enterprise email.
    • Must speak/read/write English and Japanese on a business level.

    Education

    High school diploma or equivalent required. BA/BS preferred.
