    Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation is looking for a candidate list to work in the Payments section of our Money Transfer Department The candidate will be responsible for the processing of U.S. Dollar payments for our overseas branches, subsidiaries and corporate clients received through various mediums (SWIFT, Fax, and Cash management system. There is a strong requirement for an individual who has excellent written and verbal communication skills, a team player, and detail oriented
    This position is located in Jersey City, NJ (Harborside). Hours are 10:30 AM to 06:30 PM



    Verification and approval processing of CHIPS payments, Fedwire payments and internal transfers
    Daily monitoring of the bank's position at the NY Clearing House and the Federal Reserve Bank and the coordination of items in the processing queues to ensure the daily successful completion of all transactions within deadlines.
    Responsible for sending confirmations of wires processed to our overseas offices and coordinating daily priority transactions. Monitoring and maintaining daily work files for accuracy and reconciliation of manual payments
    Preparing reports for volumes and statistics for management review.
    Responsibilities will also include close of day procedures for both CHIPS and Fedwire to ensure daily proof.


    Hours are 10:30 AM to 06:30 PM and may be later due to Fedwire extensions.



    Minimum of five years of experience in bank back office payment operations specifically CHIPS and Fedwire formatting and structure
    ·Familiarity with SWIFT processing including message type and fields used for transaction processing. Understanding of NY Clearing House (CHIPS) and Federal Reserve Bank (Fedwire) systems, processing and funding
    Payment system knowledge of CHIPS, Fedwire and payment system software (Montran experience a plus but not mandatory)
    Strong written and verbal communication skills to resolve inquiries with internal departments and external customers

    Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
