  • Overview

    SMBC is looking for an Operations Administrator to work in the Letters of Credit Reimbursement Section of the Clients Services Center, located in Jersey City, NJ (Harborside.) The candidate will be responsible for all LC Reimbursement related activities.The candidate will also provide support to the Deposit section. The candidate must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and be detail-oriented.


    Entering and repairing reimbursement claims received via MT 742 and mail delivery, processing MT 747 amendment of reimbursement claims and MT740 authorization of reimbursement claims, processing of acceptances, sending Swift correspondence on discrepancies, entering stop payments, and reporting


    Minimum of 1 year general banking experience and knowledge of back office operations preferred. . Experience in LC Reimbursement would be preferred but not necessary.

    Working knowledge of payment systems. Experience in Montran Java system and Lotus Notes a plus but not mandatory.

    Strong written and verbal communication skills as there is substantial interaction with the issuing and claiming banks as well as the front office.

    PC skills including MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc


    The candidate should be well organized, diverse, and able to adapt to various work situations. Working hours will be 9AM to 5PM however they may be minimal overtime when covering and training in Deposit section.
